HUVEC starvation time and FBS (tube formation)?

Hey guys,

atm I'm planning my tube formation with a new setup because I got positive results in my negative ctrl therefore I probably need to starve them to see the effect only in the cocultures. My goal is to enhance tube formation in HUVEC using a coculture transwell system.

What are your experiences with starving HUVEC? Which FBS concentration (0%/0.5%/1%)? Do you just serum starve or do you use plain media also without supplements? How long do you starve the cells? I use HUV-EC-C (non-primary).
