Is it from the solvent used? Did you check the solvent blank? Also when you increase the concentration of your compound of interest, what happens to the two peaks? Check the stability of the compound in the solvent used. Finally, you collect the two peak fractions and confirm on MS.

check the column life and wash the column properly increase flow rate or decrease flow rate and give proper time after each injection. still exist there is problem with column or mobile phase. also check the solubility of salt in ,mobile phase.
