The common methods to extract lipids, such as Folch or Bligh & Dyer, use organic solvents and would denature the proteins anyway. Do you want to preserve your proteins in their native state?
Precipitation of proteins with cold isopropanol is simple, reproducible and effective. May be an alternative to Bligh&Dyer extraction. Lipids remain in the isopropanol and proteins form a pellet at 14000g (20 min).
