What would be the best way to sterilize a CMC gel, considering the fact that I can't use radiation or temperature higher than 60 degrees C?

CMC or carboxymetilcelulosis is used in order to prepare a gel to be used internaly. Iradiation reduces the gels properties and heat would destroy the other ingredients (no more than 60 degrees C).
