I'm job hunting these days, and I have a lot of marketable experience using fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC) for protein purification.

However, many positions I'm applying to also prefer high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) experience, which I understand is very comparable to FPLC (albeit using different mobile phase, pressure, etc).

I believe that many of the skills I learned performing FPLC are transferable to HPLC. For example, I believe the control software is similar as are the principles of protein binding, washing, elution, peak migration, pressure control, etc. Still, I'd like an opinion from someone who's done both.
