Hi, I'm remodeling a paper, and I need to define a perturbation in my initial conditions to validate my model with the results in paper. Paper has calculated the stationary form of the equation and then added a 1% perturbation in the sationary results and put the result in the initial condition for the time dependent model, I need to know how I can do this?
Exact sentence of the paper: "The initial condition for the transient calculations is generated by applying a locally 1% random perturbation to the anion and cation concentration fields obtained from the steady calculation."

Could you provide the full bibliography, because of only this sentence could be out of the context of the whole theoretical methodology?
If I understood correctly, you want to calculate first stationary form and it's output you want to use as an input to the time-dependent form. For this first you have to solve 'Stationary Study' and the output of the first step can be given as input to the second study that is 'Time-dependent Study' with the modification of settings.
I know I'm very late with this reply but I'll let a single tip just for reference.
Assuming that the sol1 is a stationary study, it might be enough to define an initial value in the physics recalling the solution of the sol1. I.e. using the withsol operator (e.g. in the case of the w field, I will put withsol('sol1',w) in the w component of the displacement field).
If you need a perturbation, you might want something like
0.99*withsol(...).
