In my biofilm study, i have extracted EPS and IPS. Different protocols are available on their storage (ultra pure water, buffers, distilled water, solvents etc.). Can anyone provide me simple protocol to store the extracted EPS and IPS. How long the EPS/IPS can be stored before analysis?.

I would add that it depends on your extractant. Kulandaivelu, this advice may come late but if using the dilute PBS as in Redmile-Gordon et al. (2014; 'extraction and measurement of EPS...' ref Arvind's post) then analyse within 24 hours. It is probably more convenient to freeze the extracts before analysis days/weeks/months later - If you have liquid nitrogen and -80 storage use this - if you don't then just place in -20 immediately after extraction. The sooner and faster these are frozen the better. Be sure to shake after defrosting.

Dr. Marc, thanks for your clear suggestion. Presently, i have stored my samples in -20. One more clarification, my samples are very little in quantity (may be in micrograms), can i dissolve them in ultrapure water and store in -20?.

Difficult to say. I would just store mine in extraction buffer to be safe (as extracted) and avoid any dilution unless this was required immediately before analysis.
