Hello.

I am a master's student majoring in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry form South Korea.

I try to synthesize azaindole compounds by using pyridine as solvent.

At first, i just followed the reference, so i evaporated pyridine under reduced pressure using rotary evaporator. But, the smell was too bad.

Therefore, i decided to remove pyridine.

I heard that using CuSO4 or acid in work-up can extract pyridine to water layer.

But, there are two problems.

1) I think Cu can affect not only pyridine but also azaindole product.

2) My azaindole product has a Boc protecting group. And i want to retain it.

So I ask for help from the excellent seniors here.

Are there other good ways to remove pyridine while preserving my product?

p.s) In the worst-case scenario, i will reattach the Boc protecting group after extracting using acid.
