Hi, my analysis is on cables, I found that St = 0.4 in fluent FFT using (Power spectral density) and Frequency is 7.75 Hz. But calculating manually i am getting 0.06 = St. (D=0.155, V= 18 m/s, F= 7.75) And my Reynolds number is 1.9x10^5. (Turbulent intensity i given is 18%)... Which one is correct please help me to trouble shoot this issue. Looking Forward.
Dear Rajasekarababu, unfortunately I am not familiar with the program FLUENT. If you present the algebraic work that you yourself carry out, I might be able to help. Since the ratio 0.4/0.06 = 6.66... is close to 2π, it seems likely that you may be using a different convention than is used by FLUENT (there is a 1/2π in Fourier transformation / back-transformation that can be taken into account in different ways).

How you calculate the frequency manually??
your answer will be matching only which you calculate it from lift oscillation plot, measured during the analysis i.e using Cl plot... and for accurate calculation,,,take the measurement for at-least 10 cycles.timeperiod=( T10-T1)/10 and then frequency=1/T
If you still unable to do it then share your Cl plot.
