I'm performing the analysis of shear wall with foundation 76*27*16 inches and the wall of dimension 48*144*4 inches in apdl.
When the displacement controlled lateral cyclic loading is applied on the top of the wall, the element near the top of the foundation and bottom of the wall gets highly distorted.
1.My meshing is hexahedral meshing with 1*1*1 inch and I have tried reducing the mesh size but it takes a too much time to solve.
2.I have also tried reducing time steps but it is not working, what could be done to rectify this error?
3.The reinforcement is done by joining the nodes of solid65 through link180 elements.
The material properties for concrete are Linear, drucker prager parameters and concrete parameters, for steel linear and bilinear properties are taken into account. Also solid185 element rigid plate is modelled on the top of the wall for the effective distribution of loading.
I'm attaching the time vs displacement loading which I m applying on the wall.
I'm guessing, the problem is with the boundary conditions as the model is fixed at the bottomof the foundation.
Please help me solve this error.
