I am working in the lab with Hemoglobin sample. During my analysis of Hb. sample, I need to use borosilicate glass tubes. I found that I cannot recover my Hemoglobin from the glass tube? some Hemoglobin stock on the glass and refuse to come out. What could I use to prevent such interaction between Silanol group that exist on the surface of the glass and the protein? Thank you.
The simple answer is: don't use glass vessels.
Why do you need to use Borosilicate glass?
Perhaps you can coat the glass with polyethylene glycol (PEG) by pouring in a solution of PEG, pouring it out, then allowing the glass to dry, leaving a film of PEG. I used to do this with capillary tubes. I'm not sure whether it works with larger tubes.
Since the apparition of organosilanes und -siloxanes, they found his way in research + industries to coat the SiOH groups on glass.

In the industries of silanes und siloxanes, there is plenty use of medical grade products.
The treatment of glass with sililation agents, can be with a solution, p.e . trimethylalcoxysilane en EtOH , HMDZ in similar manner. Once dried, they often makes a thermal after treatment.
Equipment coated with Organosilanes, can be esterilizared with steam and resists most, but not all, cleaners, Take care on the p.H. between 3 up to 8 is o.k.
And , most important, try your equipment first with an inexpensive protein..
