It has been stated in different sources that the solubility of MnCl2 in water at 25°C is 72.3 g/100ml. But in the laboratory, I was able to dissolve only 3 gr of anhydrous MnCl2 salt in 50 ml of D.I. water, which of course became a supersaturated solution.

What is the reason for that?
