may I ask what exactly do you want to capture with your simulation? Are you interested in shielding of EM fields, thermal response, electro thermomechanical responses...
J. Anaya Tajim Md. Niamat Ullah Akhund Muhammad Ali Thank you for your responses. I am interested in capturing the thermomechanical response of EMF under simulated lightning strike and I wish to know the steps required to be followed in COMSOL to model and to set up a physics for this simulation.
My specific queries related to COMSOL simulations:
1) How to create a geometry with embedded EMF in CFRP panel and to assign the material properties?
2) How to setup a Thermomechanical physics for this simulation?
If you do not need the electromagnetic part of the problem then it is quite straightforward, do you have any expertise with comsol? Which version do you have? I can try to help you a bit ;)
J. Anaya I am interested in capturing only thermo-mechanical response and not the electromagnetic part. I am not an expert with COMSOL but I have used it with coupled Thermal and Solid Mechanics physics to study thermo-mechanical response of Metals. I am having COMSOL V4.3 with me. I would really appreciate if you could help me with this.
You are in a very old version, the problem will be quite straightforward using the layered materials interface introduced in v5.5... let me think a bit, I need to find the manuals of that version to see what is available XD
