I am working with mica contaminated soil; mica being the source of fluorine, I would like to check the fluoride content of the soil. Can anyone please help me out to find the protocol of this.
You would have to start with a dried soil sample. Then analyze water extracts at various pH levels. Then a total analysis, but that is difficult because you can't use HF for digestion of the silicates. Perhaps an expert in magic angle solid 19F NMR could advise whether there is sufficient sensitivity to measure the range of Fluoride you might encounter.
