My aim is modelling possible future changes and projections of habitats based on the current situation of terrestrial habitats. I'm basically looking for a methodology of habitat modelling which is not like habitat suitability modelling or ecological niche modelling. To code habitat types, I’m planning to use some standard classifications like EUNIS/CORINE/EU Habitat Directive etc.
I'm open to suggestions.
A brave endeavor to deconstruct both 'habitat types' and CORINE land cover types. The boundaries between the latter are based on classification of mid-resolution satellite imagery. The classes are seemingly defined in broad structural vegetation cover types by extrapolation/expert knowledge. In my research areas were I had a close look on the CORINE map (e.g. Majella), I found the extrapolation/applied expert knowledge leading to so much incorrectly labelled map patches that the CORINE map was unusable for predictive, spatial modelling.
The habitats types of the EU Habitats Directive seem first and foremost legal zoning categories referring to pre-existing, national protected areas. Where I had a closer look, types were defined by one or a few plant species and often by a list of phytosociological units ('communities'); the types were not mapped individually. For mapping these types, one would need a finer resolution than CORINE.

@Mr. Van Gils; thank you for the information. I was planning to use EUNIS Habitat Classification, not CORINE. And I think Sentinel satellite images might be useful for mapping. Because as I know it has a good resolution. What do you think?
@Mr. Ferrarini; good points you have made, thank you. I can have past and present satellite images, I can also pixelate them but I don’t know how to use them to predict the future scenarios. Actually I don’t have methodology. For example which GIS tool should I use? Maybe ArcGIS? And finally which rules should I use?
@Mr. Towe; yeah you are right. I wonder which impacts should I take into account to do it right (e.g. climate, human, soil charactheristics)?
Models are available but for that you require the precise raw data which is a prerequisite for models...Then calibration and validation is must
You are going to consider species migration effect due to global warming?
