How to maintain the level of Matrigel loaded cells in 3D culture using Microfluidic Chip?

I am using Matrigel for 3D organotypic co-culture of mammalian cells on microfluidic chip. I am using thick gel protocol of Matrigel for the same in order to entrap the cells. Initially I had tried out experiments using 1:2 ratio of cell suspension:Matrigel and now I have modified it to 100% undiluted matrigel for cell seeding into microfluidic device. However, after every 24 hours, the level of Matrigel in cell culture chamber of the device gets reduced. In order to cope up with that, I keep adding Matrigel only as a filler.

How should I avoid this? Please help.
