I am a final year undergraduate Faculty of engineering university of peradeniya. I'm doing a research call "Impact of tsunami generated objects on coastal structures using Computational Fluid Dynamics".Therefore I developed a Tsunami like wave using Ansys Fluent (below i attached Geometry of the flume and Tsunami like wave) now i struggled in how to floating a object (like box shape or disc shape) on the wave and how to hit with any structure (basically a wooden pannal)
Please Can anyone help me?
you should use dynamic mesh for buoy and set gravity to stand in the water
And in order that the object could really freely float on the water, the so-called 6-degree-of-freedom (6DOF) solver needs to be applied to the calculation of the moevement of the solid body on the wave. It is essentially calculating the motion of a rigid body under the action of the 3 components of a resultign force and moments from the fluid side on the rigid body, which determines the motion of the rigid body.
