I'm evaluating the reproductive performance of quails. I have the fertility, and hatchability percentages for six different sire groups and would like to determine the significant difference between the percentages of the sires using SPSS. I'd appreciate it if the steps are shared.

You can to compute the Standard Error of the Mean (SEM) for percentages in SPSS,
Enter the data in the program spss, then go to menu bar to choose
Analyze / Descriptive Statistics /Descriptives.After that select the variables which were intered previous and you want to analyze.Press Click on / Options / check SEM and click Continue
5. Finally, Click OK to run the analysis and display the results.
Hello Samuel Ter Vincent. It sounds as if the 6 sire groups are independent groups--is that right? If so, and if you have the sample size for each group, you could use the WEIGHT command, as in this example:

Reuben Friday Osemeke, ANOVA suggests a quantitative DV. I may have misunderstood, but I thought that for each individual quail, some binary outcome either occurs or does not occur (e.g., fertile vs not fertile), and that the question is whether the proportions differ across the 6 sire groups. If my understanding is correct, a Chi-square test of association seems more appropriate. But let's wait for clarification from Samuel Ter Vincent.

The suggestion of @BruceWeaver appears to be what I am looking for. The 6 sire groups are independent and I'd like to verify if their percentages differ significantly.
