After cleaning of the curtain plate, source, skimmer and Q0 of our 3200QTRAP (Absciex) Intensities of our Q3+ are 10 times lower than before. Q1+ intensities and peak widths are fine. We checked the calibration solutions, changed the capillary, vacuum is good, increased the detector. We have the same problem on two instruments that were cleaned at the same time. Can someone offer me some other solutions?
Since your Q1+ intensities and peak widths are fine, your problem doesn't sound like it's related to the source/capillary/detector. Does your Q3 need some resolution tuning/mass calibration?
Thanks for your suggestion. Indeed the problem was that the resolution was put to high which caused the intensities to drop. Since our instrument is quiet old, we had to find an optimum between resolution and sensitivity to barely reach both specs of our calibration.
