I want to differentiate between Tobacco mosaic virus and Tomato mosaic virus without sequancing.
Note: I mechanically inoculated tomato ( Solanum lycopersicum) but no symptoms appear.

Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) and Tomato mosaic virus (ToMV) infect several solanaceous species. Both viruses produce local lesions on Nicotiana glutinosa and Nicotiana tabacum cv. Xanthi. The two viruses could be differentiated based on the symptoms on Nicotiana sylvestris and N. tabacum cv. White Burley: TMV produces systemic infection in both these hosts, whereas ToMV produces only local lesions.
