Surface roughness is a well- known surface assessment criteria for the majority of finished products. However, in case of adhesiveness of the different surfaces, the reported articles were often obscure between the surface roughness and pores. Is there any quantification criteria to differentiate between the two? References were highly appreciated.

In an effort to avoid the problems introduced by deep pores, the above Standard recommends using Rk and Rpk to express surface roughness of sintered surfaces.
We feel this is not a sound procedure mainly because of the conceptual error involved in the Rpk definition (See Franco .L.A. & Sinatora A, Precision Engineering 40, 2015). We are working on an alternate measurement method but as yet it is not operational.
