Currently, I am working on PLA-PEG copolymer micelle for the drug delivery system. I have seen several papers where some researcher talks to centrifuge the drug-loaded micelle to separate the unloaded drug then lyophilize the supernatant and use a common solvent, on the other hand, some also talk to filter the sediment and use an organic solvent to determine the concentration of the free drugs in UV. Thus I am a little bit confused. Can I use UV spectroscopy to determine drug release from the polymer Micelle? How?
