Is it possible to convert between color scales like Lovibond, Gardner, Apha or the solutions mentioned in Ph. Eur ?
I found descriptions of spectophotometers where e.g. EBC and SRM were "compatible - and also some papers mentioning scales side by side. But so far i have no clue how to convert/compare scale values.
The colour scales such as those of Gardener, APHA (Animal Plant Health Agency) and Lovibond are based on visual comparison with paper, glass or perhaps liquid samples. They are easy to use and technically, they are widely accepted by expert colourists.

This demonstrably predicts the response of the human visual sensation to light stimuli. In terms of colour measurement and colour difference control this is the key technology that enables the coloured product manufacturing industry worldwide.
