Hi.

I would like to introduce plasmid into Aeromonas hydrophila and Staphylococcus aureus using conjugation. In many articles describing such manipulation were used E.coli S17-1pir or SM10pir as a donor strains. Plasmid that I want to transfer possess RP4 mob, oriT and oriV. I also read that S17-1pir strain is F- so I am not sure if the plasmid and this E. coli strain is enough to succesful conjugation. I will be grateful for your help.

I am also interested in literature regarding designing of conjugation experiments.
