In that sense, you should be able to see the adjustment whether the probes contact you samples or not on the images from the software control.
Recognize the probe system and in a condition the probe environment. Tress the probe tip with a small radius and control medium across the object system. For example in condition of Atomic force microscopy, the tip is mounting on a flexible cantilever allowing the surface profile.
