Dear colleagues,
I am working with FLAC (dynamic analysis using PM4Sand) and I would like to ensure that the static stage of my model is already stable before applying the dynamic loading.
In my case, I noticed that the ru (excess pore pressure ratio) shows irregular behavior at the beginning of the dynamic stage: it fluctuates unnaturally and even jumps close to 0.9 at around t = 1 s, which does not look physical.
To address this, I already tried to control the initial static condition by adjusting K₀, but the result is still the same.
My question is: How can we check or confirm that the static model is already stable in FLAC/FLAC3D?
Is it sufficient to look at the unbalanced force ratio, or should we also check other criteria such as displacement trend, kinetic energy, or stress distribution?
Any suggestions or references would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
