I am using ANSYS 16 version and the quality of contours and vectors generated by FLUENT is not satisfactory. That is probably because FLUENT has been designed for solver purpose and not for post-processing, although a preliminary idea of the results can be obtained from it.
Recently, I have started using PARAVIEW which is an open source post processing software and can be easily downloaded. It gives much better quality of contours and streamlines and is very simple to use. Try it!
My recommendation is to use either CFD-Post or ENSIGHT postprocessors. Both are capable to produce high-quality output, which is publication ready. The postprocessing in Fluent is of ugly quality and was never meant to be high quality postprocessing. The aim is to have just an insight into the ongoing simulation while it is calculated. It is missing the quality, user influence on how it looks like in the detail, scripting language and the capability to save the state of a developed postprocessing in order to apply it with minimal effort to another case or setup - all things which you will find and love in CFD-Post.
