Hi,

Two weeks ago, I wanted to run a first trial of MEA recordings in my iN cells. However, a few days after plating, it looked like I had bacterial contamination. I followed the cleaning protocol provided by Axion (my MEA plate is from Axion), by trypsinizing the wells a rinsing them with deionized water. I put the plate in the fridge with the wells filled with deionized water. I would like to re-use the plate, but I am afraid to get contamination again. Before use, I will rinse the wells several times with ethanol (according to the cleaning protocol: 70% then 95%). The protocol also says to "bake" it at 53°C, but I am not sure whether that would be hot enough to kill any possible remaining bacteria.

Has anyone here had a contamination in their MEA plate? How did you make sure that it was completely clean before reusing?

Thanks in advance for any tips/recommendations!
