i have data of compression test conducted on concrete cube of 150*150*150 in form of failure loads. How to calculate the displacement to be applied as a boundary condition in ansys workbench if we want to simulate the compression test in ansys?
Also, based on the compression results is it possible to determine the displacement rate in splitting tensile test ?
Could anyone guide me .

In your case, you need to define two displacement boundary Conditions (BCs). Often people does this simulation with a single displacement and pressure instead that can provide wrong results depending on other settings that are needed to be done on the model. However, applying two displacements is more straight forward solution for performing this simulation which I elaborate in here.
The first displacement should be applied on the back of your cube based on a cylindrical coordinate. This way you can prevent nodes from axial movement (Z direction) and rotational movement (Y direction) and allowing nodes to have radial movement (X direction). This BC represents how you grab the cube in your actual test.
The second BC should be another displacement BC based on a Cartesian coordinate that allows applying uniform displacement on the front surface of the cube. By the way, you need to allow free movement on the plane and apply the displacement towards the back surface only. Suppose the Z direction is towards the back surface and X and Y directions are on the plane of back surface. Then you need to apply actual displacement (from your test) along the Z direction and set the other directions (X and Y directions) as "Free".
Set your simulation in such that you gradually applying the displacement for avoiding convergence problem.

To apply displacement boundary condition in ansys=>
first define element type. for your problem in block you can use solid 186
the model your problem using modeling>create>volume>cube
after you should mesh the volume.
then define displacement in the following path
solution>apply>structural> displacement>on areas
after that solve the problem.
logically when you define displacement on nodes. the value of displacement node is the same you define. but if you investigate the displacement near node you can find the answer.
you should consider that in your problem you should use two displacement boundary condition instead of on displacement and other load.
Hamidreza Ahmadi Moghaddam sir and Mohsen Rezaei sir thank you for your response .I have applied displacement on the top surface of the cube and kept bottom surface fixed .So as per my interpretation of your answer should i assign the same displacement value in back and front face of the cube to avoid axial movement ?
and another query is that i don't have the lab results for split tensile test .For simulation of split tensile test what precautions and value of displacement should be taken ?

I think that fixing one surface and applying total displacement that you read from the gauge in tensile test would be sufficient and you are not facing rigid body motion in your model. However, if you decided to apply two displacements, then you may face rigid body motion that make the convergence of your model a bit difficult. A good solution for avoiding rigid body motion in your simulation is applying a "Weak Spring" which you can add in the analysis settings.
