I have data set from two groups (control and treatment group) and the total sample size was 164 (from control group 80 and from treatment group 84). The dependent variable is capacity at an individual level and data was collected by using a 4-point scale i.e. Never, sometimes, most of the time and always. For other independent variables, I have both continuous, binary and total score data (data was collected based on Likert scale and a total score was computed).

Now, I would like to find out the difference between two groups on the basis of their capacity level i.e. does capacity level change for a certain process? And I would like to find out the important variable that could explain the change.

Now, which statistical procedure would be best to explain the change and to find out the important factor?

Hope for your valuable comments and suggestions and thanks in advance for your kind cooperation.
