I am using the heat transfer in solids physics to address my research problem. Previously I used to keep constant boundary temperature, as given in figure 1. Now, I have to define the boundary temperature at a dynamic heating rate as given in figure 2.
Can anyone suggest how to add these ramp conditions as a function of time, it will be a great help.

Hi Anita,
Comsol offers several ways to do that. As your ramp is simple, an easy way would be just to create an interpolation polinomial based on some discrete points of your graph. This can be done by: Component->right click Definitions->functions->interpolation. You can then plot it to see if the interpolation is according to you expectation. The function name (example int1) you will put then directly as your boundary condition dependent on time, therefore int(t). Take also a look on your time stepping intervals just to be sure that your solver is able to capture your boundary conditions correctly.

Hello Robert Jäckel, Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I have worked on your suggestions. However, I am getting convergence error and reciprocal step size is increasing at a high pace as given in the figure.
Robert Jäckel thanks a lot for the suggestion. My convergence error is getting resolved by playing with ramp rate and hold time.
