Since almost all the blood/serum parameters measured in diagnostics are concentrations, how valid are absolute values in case of hemoconcentration or hemodilution? For example a low platelet count in dengue, must signify a much lower count considering the hemoconcentration that happens. In such a case, shouldn't these values be corrected w.r.t. hematocrit?

So how can we compare two concentration parameters (like platelet count, WBC count) at two different time points when not just the solute but also the solvent is at loss.
