We deposited ZnO film through thermal evaporator, we analysed them by ES and XRD techniques. the refractive index is decreased with the increase of wavelength, any one can provide me the answer how refractive index is associated with transmission of ZnO film.
May be you are talking to attenuation during the XRD measurements???
No we have deposited ZnO films and got ES data from where we calculate the refractive index, we would like to discuss transmission of the same ZnO film without taking transmission spectra. In other words, what is the relation between refractive index and transmission, if the refractive index is decreased with the increase of wavelength, what should be the relation between transmission as a function of wavelength, in short, maximum refractive index means maximum or minimum transmission
The answer of your question is not so simple because the relation between T and n is not straightforward. Have in mind that T depends also on thickness of the film and for thicker films you will obtain oscilating behaviour of T. Generally for transparent film higher refractive index means higer reflectance and smaller T. If you send me refractive index dispersion curve and the thickness of the film I will calculate T spectra of film deposited on glass or quartz substrate.
It means that film of lower refractive index has higher T and lower R and film with higher T is more suitable for solar cell applications.

I am sending you two profiles relating to refractive index as function of wavelength and refractive index as a function of film thickness.
The absorbance spectra of the thin films of ZnO of various thicknesses have been studied quite intensely by many people. It is known that the ZnO films have low absorbance in the visible and near infrared regions; and it has higher absorbances absorbance in the ultraviolet region. The optical reflectance spectrums R for ZnO confirmed low optical reflection of thin films. The reflectivity is only of 10% in the visible range. It decreases with increasing wavelength in the range 500 to 1000 nm. The reflectance can very simply be found using the relationship R+T+A=1. Depending upon the thickess, the ZnO films generally exhibit high transmittance of the order of 75- 95% in the visible range. For transparent thin films, that are used for applications in optoelectronic devices where low absorbance and low reflectance in the visible and near infrared region (up to 1000 nm), high transmittance values of ZnO are of immense importance.
Can you send me the reference papers of reflectance, absorbance and transmittance as well as reflective index spectra of ZnO films?

besides the multiple scattering complicates the simple equation above.
