It's not trustworthy with clinical trials being conducted on few volunteers. They didn't even share their research work with the scientific community which is highly unethical. WHO still does not support the Russian vaccine so far. So, its doubtful that the Russian vaccine Sputnik-V will help in the eradication of COVID19.
Technically, what the Russians have done is to run a phase 3 trial side-by-side the "mass immunization phase." These might sound unethical and highly controversial but in a pandemic situation, to stem the rampant loss of human life and to avoid the high cost of hospitalization and rehabilitation of COVID-19 victims in Russia, the government of that country has done what it thinks is best for its citizens. Time will tell if they erred. It is noteworthy that their decision was based on favourable results of phase 1 and 2 trials of the same vaccine.
In my opinion, Russian vaccines are only used for advertising propaganda inside and outside their country, not for treatment, and may even be very harmful to human health in the long run (due to unwanted mutations).
