This test is suitable for within-subjects designs.

Two-Sample (Independent) t-Test:If you have two kinetic curves from different populations (e.g., two different species or conditions), use a two-sample t-test (also known as an independent t-test). The two-sample t-test compares the means of two independent groups. It evaluates whether the differences between the means are significant. This test is appropriate for between-subjects designs.

Directionality:Consider whether you want to test for differences in a specific direction (one-tailed) or simply whether the curves differ (two-tailed). A one-tailed t-test checks if one group’s mean is greater or smaller than the other, while a two-tailed test assesses any difference.

Assumptions: Ensure that your data meet the assumptions for t-tests:Independence of data points. Approximately normal distribution of data. Homogeneity of variance (similar variance within each group).

Software Tools:Use statistical software (such as GraphPad Prism) to perform t-tests on your kinetic data. Specify the type of t-test (paired or two-sample) and the directionality (one-tailed or two-tailed).

Remember that statistical tests provide insights into whether observed differences are likely due to chance or represent true effects. Choose the appropriate test based on your experimental design and research question

Hi Omar, thank you for the answer.

My data is from two different groups (controls and patients). I did some tests, but I would like to analyze the entire curve. I would like to see if, throughout the kinetics, patients differ from controls. I did the T test, but this test compares the points separately on the curve and I don't think this is useful for me.

Camila Costa, I don't know how your data from neutralizing antibody tests should be parametrized, as it depends on your goal of study. But there still must be parameters (maybe, for example, the IC50 of the neutralizing antibody) derived from your curves suitable for your study and perform the t-test for those parameters.
