For instance, a publication in a peer-reviewed journal indexed in "emerging source citation idex" but with no impact factor. Since, these journals get no impact factor yet but are peer-reviewed.

Would it contribute to secure an admission in PhD?

Would you being a supervisor give preference to a candidate with a peer-reviewd publication vs a non-published one? Or would you only prefer a candidate with higher CGPA?
