i, mistakenly, mixed two flasks of t-25 into t-75 flask. both same cell line but got from different vials. one was slower than the other. how this will affect my results?
I want to share with you my own observations under my experimental setup. My observations showed a strong relationship between age/rate of cell division vs
1) Apoptosis/cell death assays
2) Response to drug (drug time-dose kinetics)
3) Knockdown of a specific gene
I guess depending on your phenotype, your results will be affected huge or less.
If you have a new frozen vial, I strongly advice to discard your cells in order to prevent any misleading output/results.
Do you mean the proliferation rate is slower than the other? If yes, then it is possible that the slower one is reaching or has reached senescence. And that could lead to the development of a completely different phenotype compared to younger proliferating cells. I'd discard these mixed cells and start fresh.
