Since January this year we have been under the threat of a pandemic, since March our governments have intervened to control it and largely failed, whatever the initiatives they deployed.
The virus is still here, we do not have a vaccine and our economies are now devastated by the economic consequences of the government interventions.
How much longer can we continue to impose measures that will leave our national economies and the international and economy in the condition of a post-war recession and economic collapse?
With no end in sight and no practicably deployable vaccine even in the production pipeline how long will it be before the financial, economic and social consequences of this event will be far worse than the virus itself?

My own take of the virus issue is that we need anyway a more human-species-appropriate life-style , and we have now an evolutionary option to walk a more healthy pathway for the human race. The virus cannot only bury us mortal human beings, it buried already globalization and neo-classical economics.

Once the vaccines are released for use, about 2 years for a significant herd immunity to develop. Of course there seem to be other secondary strains developing even now of covid. It may ultimately parallel the flu situation where yearly vaccines are required?? I have a suspicion about that.

If I have understood you correctly, you are trying to explain the development of events in the world in the era of the coronavirus pandemic, using the mathematical apparatus of Combinatorial Optimization, judging by the links, where the main term is "polinomial time". However, I heard a completely different phrase - "the coronavirus pandemic will end as soon as the WHO runs out of money". In other words, we are shown obituaries every day as statistics on coronavirus in every country, but we have no choice but to believe (or not believe) these statistics. I can only say one thing: when at the beginning of the 1941-1945 war, Russia had severe defeats, the radio was taken away from citizens so that there was no panic. Those people who did not give their radio, they could be re-repressed if they violated the order to give the radio. However, now we see a completely different picture: all countries, as one common team, are competing in filing daily obituaries, which terrify, fear and panic, especially among older people, and this greatly reduces their immunity against coronavirus. We do not know how many people died from this panic who did not manage to get infected with the coronavirus. I would like to draw your attention to this particular nuance.

I drew attention to the following pattern: If Europe announces an increase in the number of infected people by x percent, then Russia also announces exactly the same increase by x percent. And this correlation becomes constant over time. One gets the impression that there is some kind of world center that controls statistics of number of people infected. It would seem that it should be quite the opposite: each country should scare its citizens as little as possible with the number of infected people, but in reality we see synchronization in the submission of statistics in Europe and Russia by approximately the same number of x percent. I'm not talking about the United States and Brazil, where the situation is deplorable and even worse than in Europe and Russia. I cannot understand the point of presenting these statistics. Why is this done, for what purpose? Maybe to save people and make them stay at home? However, this does not work in practice. People need to earn their living in any way. Then why they scare people by statistics? I can't find the answer. However, I foresee that this is being done deliberately so that people will kill themselves without coronavirus with the help of fear, and this is indeed what happens.
There is indeed a definitive answer to this question which is not about the duration of the pandemic but about its effect.
The money that is being spent on this is finite. The economies of the world are being wrecked by this event and that is every bit as real and every bit as much of a threat as the virus itself.
At some point the money will run out and the the consequences will be clearer to see. Similarly patience is already running out with governments. It is not feasible that populations will continue putting up with the privations that lockdowns and isolation are causing.
It is not the virus that we have to survive it is the social disorder, mental illness and financial collapse that we will soon see in spades.
the virus has been driven not merely by its own blind search for hosts and survival but by human conduct. Wrong food, obesity, and over population. Its genesis and continuance as a by-product of human behavioural trends must be considered. Where overpopulation is concerned should not nature takes its course otherwise is this simply going to occur again, with some alternative virus?
Unfortunately, the main problem now is surely fear? Although clearly conditions are different, where I live the air is clean, the food healthy (see above) and people have hardly been affected. My life certainly has not been affected but because of the environment, not me. I go into restaurants/bars and no one wears masks except the staff, but also no one gets ill.
People here are not convulsed by fear, or at least only on the very odd occasion.
We have to survive these control measures no matter what the consequences are, because COVID-19 is a deadly invading agent that all humans have to learn to deal & survive with.

The pandemic is still damaging the lives of people. It becomes terrible day by day and we are not going back to normal life in the near future. We can't completely avoid covid 19 but we can reduce its effects. For this, we need to completely change our lifestyle, for example, how we work, shopping, socializing, exercising, and taking care of kids and other family members.

Here in my country, the life is very normal and people do anything they want without any kind of protection!!!! I think world need to reconsidered the control measures.
It is a question of organization and economic power. poor countries will not resist long unless a wind of solidarity takes place in the world.
