How long can cells stay in suspension in Hank's Balanced Salt Solution (HBSS)?

Was just wondering what the recommended amount of time for cells to stay in HBSS is. Also what happens to the cells if they stay in this solution for prolonged amounts of time.

Interestingly, while checking out the question I got curious to know the answer and while i dug up some literature, I found that up to 2-3 hours there is no change in cell viability compared to control. While prolonged storage up to 24 hours reduced cell viability from 100 to 71.3%.
