I am embedding PFA fixed tissues in low melting point agarose prior to sectioning and I am wondering how long can these can be kept whilst maintaining tissue integrity and fluorescent signal?
Hello, Agarose gel has a storage life of about 3 - 4 weeks it should be stored in dark at a temperature of around 4"C. It is very light sensitive and should not be kept under light for more than 3 hours. it can be kept as long as the block is well hydrated.
Karen A. Darbinyan Thank you very much for your response Karen. When you say kept well hydrated, do you mean the agarose blocks should be kept in PBS or wrapped up so they don't dry out?
