I am working on the molecular phylogeography of giant african snail in S. India. I would like to know how can I design the primers for the ISSR regions of the snail? Can I use a general primer which has been used for many snails? Is there are some softwares for that?

ISSRs arn non species specific so the easiest way to find polymorphic ones is checking the articles were related species were analyzed.
First of all have to research papers that study the ISSR in your snail species (or related ) and use there primers. Sometimes they are not much different from other species from the some genus or family.
You can see if there are any DNA sequences of your snail in the NBCI database. If you have any genome sequence, you can use a software to find your ISSR regions (i've only worked with SSR). Then you can use Primer3 (free online tool) to design the primers based on the parameters that you want.
