200x means 200 times more concentrated than the concentration you commonly need/use. Define this needed concentration and made a preparation 200 time more concentration as stock solution.
For example: I have this compound that needs to be dissolved in DMSO to create a stock solution first prior to diluting the solution (DMSO + compound) with media. So for a 200uL of final volume solution with the media diluted, I need to have a 0.12% concentration of the compound while at the same time reaching a 0.1% final DMSO concentration.
Let's verify if I understand your case: you need to dilute 200 times a stock solution to obtain, in diluted solution, 0.12% compound and 0.1% DMSO.
In this case the 200X stock solution must contain: 200x0.12= 24% compound, 200x0.1= 20% DMSO and 100-24-20 = 56% other solvent/media. If 200 uL is the volume of the diluted solution, mix 1 uL stock solution with 199 uL solvent/media to prepare it.
that makes sense. thank you very much! if that stock solution will be performed through a serial dilutions, would the DMSO concentration be still the same (0.1%) all throughout?
