Hi, we need to remove tween from a protein solution that will be analyzed by MS. What would be the available options starting by those cheap, effective and simple? Thanks!
I'm afraid neither ZipTip, nor biobeads would give sufficient removal of tween (is it tween-20 or higher?). If there is a way to avoid tween in the first place, would be great. For example, you might try Progenta™ Non-ionic Acid Labile Surfactant (https://proteabio.com/products/ALS-400) which is compatible with MS.

There are many commercially available polystyrene resins that can be used (i.e.. Amberlite, Calbiosorb, Biobeads and many more) just as suggested by Dr. Stefanssons and others.
Alternatively, you can also try using cyclodextrins, as they can be added into solution and removed by dialysis together with non-dialyzable detergents.
