The number of people infected with the new coronavirus continues to skyrocket, with more than 80000 cases worldwide as of the end of February. But there's no vaccine or cure in sight, meaning that doctors can do little more than offer supportive treatment to the very sick and hope their bodies can survive the infection.
As the scientific community scrambles to find a drug that can effectively treat patients sickened by the new coronavirus from China, doctors are trying some surprising remedies: medicines targeting known killers such as HIV, Ebola, and malaria.

When?
As an engineer, I am interested in the development of prophylaxis approaches to help prevent infection. It might be as simple as barriers or improved methods for air flow. I believe chemists can think along the same lines. The SARS-CoV-2 virus is pretty easy to kill. So, if chemical formulations could be developed that kill the virus that allow use around electronics or even applied while occupied by people, that would be very useful.
I wish to try more researchers and scientists and as soon as possible it will be ended pandemic of coronavirus.
Dear Dr Ramin Javahershenas , I believe it needs multi disciplinary research and efforts and Physicians, pharmacists, chemists ,.....from all countries as a unit cell should collaborate !
