I want to extract 10 ml of cotton nectar for pesticide residue analysis, for this how can I extract it? The method should not adversely affected to residue of insecticide. Which equipment perform excellent to obtain nectar from cotton flower with short period of time.
I use microcapillary tubes to collect nectar from orange blossoms. I wear a head magnifier to help make sure that I touch as little of the other tissue as I can. I want to be sure that I am getting only nectar and not pollen or cells from scraping petals, stigma, or stamens. You may find that early morning when the flowers first open is the best time. You are competing with all the bees. It may also help to have the plants well watered.
