I need to analyse experimental results of an Argon jet coming out from a reservoir with stagnation pressures of 1-5 bar, through a converging nozzle and into a vacuum chamber of 10^(-4) torr. I saw in the attached article equations (1-6) based on an isentropic flow model of a perfect gas. I want to ask: How can I know if it is justified to use this model also in my case? - i.e: How can I know that I can make the assumption that the flow of the jet in my case is an isentropic flow?
