Every journal has some responsibility to keep something unopened to everybody. Tn the journals with double blind peer review process, the name of the author is not displaced to the reviewer and the name of the reviewer is not displayed to the author. It looks like a very ridiculous thing, but it is very important in consideration to the following points.

1.The reviewer may not review the article impartially if the name of the author/s are known to him/her. It is seen that almost all Senior Scientists and Senior Professors know the topic of research/project going on in other universities/ institutions on his subject in his country. As an expert, we choose them to review the article. Many personal factors may hamper in the way of impartial reviewing of the article.

2.In case of rejection or harsh comments, the authors may become an enemy of the reviewer if can identify the reviewer. Many controversy may develop.

So this process is followed by many journals. In our journal, only I know which article is reviewed by whom, as we delete the name, designations etc. of author before sending the article to the reviewer in MS WORD file.
