For any title irrespective of any areas of publication calls for its standing to reflect the message of their publication & as such title is very much important & for the message for which it has been written . There are internationally accepted guidelines that Editors of top Journals recomend, such as the ARRIVE guidelines, for Europe.
In this you read that "The title should provide as accurate and concise a description of the article as possible" (accurate and concise should mean "short"...
Dear Olutosin, I have never seen a tip that indicates that the methodology should be reflected in the title. All i know that the title should be short, informative and catch readers' attention.
Current International Guidelines, such as STROBE/ARRIVE have recommended study designs to be reflected in the title. Some journals strictly follow this requirement while some remain flexible.
Dear Olutosin, I think that it is depending on your work. If the work focuses on methodology like new method or modification in old method you should mention in the tilt. Good luck
A good title for a research must reflect the entire study and all its parts and not just the methodology. It should help readers to know the main purpose of the study in just some few catchy words!
I think it depends on the content of your write up/article and the main objective. If your article has an objective on methodology/methods, it has to be reflected in the title. If your work is based on a method and involves some form of comparisons in the use of one or more methods, then it will reflect in the title.
Also, if the work is about a method derived, the title must reflect it.
If your paper has a very technical concept then yes, it's better to mention it. For example: "Use of ArcGIS to model landslides" - something like this.
