Not sure about it, would use of an oil carrier formulated as emulsion an alternative to increasing solubility in aqueous media?

The Lipodisq technology allows a hydrophobic material to be formulated into a particle system that is then rendered water soluble - the hydrophobic materials are not exposed to the aqueous media. This allows for a stable aqueous solution of particles with a lipid/hrydrophobic core that will carry the hydrophobic drug/molecule/membrane protein of interest.
