Hello, I submitted a manuscript for publication in a certain journal and the manuscript was accepted for publication 2 weeks later (from the time of submission) without any review comment. I am then requested to pay an APC (publication charge) which is relatively high before i can see the galley proof. My worry is i doubt the quality of the review; at least the manuscript should have minor comments from reviewers. Is this a predatory journal? and should i go on to pay the APC? Your comments will be highly appreciated. Thanks

This would help to answer your question. As said by Jaime G. Pacheco-Hoyos your experience that your manuscript is accepted without a peer review comment (and relatively fast, I think too fast...) and the subsequent request to pay is a typical feature of a predatory journal (by the way did you knew that there was a fee beforehand?).

Send emails regularly inviting to publish
They offer impact factor and show medals and high indicators
Offer to publish in a very short time (days or weeks)
They are multidisciplinary, that is, they accept jobs from all areas and disciplines.

They do not detail the arbitration process (sometimes they do not even mention it)
Present the DOI or Crossref logo as something "important"
The name of the magazine regularly looks like a serious academic journal
